ANNOUNCEMENT...And our interim DRE is.....

For those of you unaware, our current Director of Religious Exploration, Julie Taylor, is taking a break from the role for a few months to restock some depleted mojo. The person who will be taking on the role during this time is our very own Christina Kahlou. YAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!

If you don't know Christina, she is a child therapist, a Kidsyoga trainer, and has been a midwife. She's also been a wonderful volunteer in our program so she's got a good idea of the its needs.

Welcome, Christina! We're so glad to have you here.

May 2018 - Living Our Principles

This month in RE we're going deeper with our 7 Principles. In brief, our Spirit Jam offerings that your kids can choose between are:

-a game where we consider a situation and work with our teammates to determine which Principle most closely aligns with it.  (General knowledge of the 7 Principles)
- work on either seedlings or seed bombs and discuss how seeds travel and impact our environment (7th Principle)
- work on equity awareness and compassion by trying challenges that limit what our able bodies can do (6th Principle)
- consider the needs of those who struggle with housing in our community and make bags of helpful supplies to offer up at shelters (2nd Principle)
- a necklace of paper beads. The beads will have the 7 Principles written inside. (General knowledge.)

Wishing everyone a joyous May

It's the RE Blog!

Welcome Everyone to the RE Blog
For the past two years we've been adding updates about our monthly happenings in RE on Tumblr. We've recently decided to move this information to our website so that our families can more intuitively access the information.

Every month we'll be posting our monthly plans, plus other information that you'll need to know in terms of social activities, Our Whole Lives programs, youth group events, etc. Hopefully, at some point, we can even make it look pretty.

But for now, welcome. We're glad your family is here with us at GRU.
